THIS IS NOT A SUPPORTED FUNCTION OF PLAZMIC so proceed at your own risk. The instructions are below.

With a little “push” from Constabl on BBF… I’ve figured out how to export Custom themes in a lower OS.
you need to edit some files..but its REAL easy. Do it at your OWN RISK….

1. make sure Themebuilder is CLOSED
2. locate the Plazmic CDK 4.5 directory in Program files.
3. go to the directory RESOURCES
4. select the file THEMES
5. look for 2 folders. 1 is dimension240×260, the other dimension 320×240.
6. within the dimension 240×260 there is a file called 8100Custom.
7. Edit the following lines to look like this:
   The files are located in the Resource/Theme directories, then the 240×260 directory (will have the 8100 files) the 320×240 (will have the 8300, 8700 &8800 files) I’d suggest not changing the 7100.

these are the lines you edit:
theme.supportedHandheldOs = 4.2.1,4.2.2,4.5
theme.preferredHandheldOs = 4.5
theme.importOs = 4.2.2,4.3.1

Go to the dimension320×240 file and do the same for the 8300Custom, 8700Custom & 8800Custom.

I don’t think you will find it necessary to edit the 7100.

What an exciting day Friday was! 

Plazmic, the maker of Content Developer Kit, released it’s newest version late Friday afternoon.  Thanks!

I must admit though, I am a little disappointed with some of the features.  I’ve posted on several other sites my displeasure.  In case you haven’t read them…well here it goes:

1) Lack of ability to export Custom themes to a lower OS. Currently you can only export to OS 4.5.  There has been talk of editing the ALX file, but for me that has not worked.

2) Lack of a Today Plus template. I know we can create a custom today plus style, but the TRUE today plus style hides the zen icons until you actually roll your trackball to the left.  You cannot do that with this version of Themebuilder.

3) And finally, IT TOOK THEM LONG ENOUGH!

So, theme lovers, sit back and just watch what the creative theme developers out there can and will do with this new tool.

I am in the process of loading all of my themes back onto my new server.  It may take some time, since I have over 500 themes!

I may just leave my older themes on Themes4BB.com and just put all my new work up here.  I have a few themes I am working on now that will (hopefully) impress!

This was a berry popular theme on my old site.  Hopefully it will be popular here as well.
